"Strive for the Best" is the "Spirit of Aqualia" of St. John's College. This is a salient part of our College culture brewing for more than 97 years since the establishment in 1912. For both the College and fellow St. Johnians, past and present, this Spirit of Aquila will forge on forever!
What distinguishes the College from other halls of residence of the University, is the College's belief to nurture, cultivate and 'breed' excellence in human character and academic pursuit. For more than 97 years, the College shoulders three missions: to foster St. Johnians to have all-round and distinguished character; to make the St. Johnians zealous for the College and society; and finally, to encourage St. Johnians to become a life-long member of the College fraternity and community. Since the foundation of the College, we have made our commitment to these missions without hesitance. Fellow St. Johnians have held and will continue to hold this same faith in their life: to strive for the best. Indeed, upholding this Spirit makes many of us the most prominent figures in society. Without a doubt, this is the best of St. Johnian Culture.
The mission of St.John's College is three-fold:
