Martin Scholar titles are awarded to St. Johnians with outstanding academic results in the University

Martin Prize

Martin Prizes are awarded to first-year St. Johnians (both Undergraduates and Postgraduates) with excellent academic performance. Once student has successfully submitted an application for admission, him / her will be considered for Martin Prizes/Scholarships.

ernest kwok shiu keung memorial scholarship

On the Donor
With a generous bequest from the late Mr. Ernest Kwok Shiu Keung, a HKU alumni and past St. Johnian, the " Ernest Kwok Shiu Keung Scholarship" has been established to support St. Johnians. Ernest graduated from St. John’s College in 1964 with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and led a distinguished career as a civil engineer and lawyer. Ernest was a very active alumni and hopes that this annual scholarship will provide students with a life enriching experience at St. John’s College.
Purpose and Scope
The scholarship will cover the accommodation fees for the academic year of a first-year student at St. John’s College for one year.
Eligibility Criteria
•    Must be pursuing a full-time bachelor’s degree in law or engineering
•    Must have obtained an offer for accommodation at St. John’s College
•    A local resident of Hong Kong
Priority will be given to students who are (i) the first in his/her family to go to university (or the first in his/her generation) and (ii) from families experiencing financial difficulty

PS Ting Dream catching scholarship(丁炳星追夢奬學金)

On the Donor
With a generous bequest from Mr. Ting Ping Sing, the Scholarship has been established to support Local DSE students, who are not residing in private housing. It aims to alleviate financial pressure on St. Johnians, to promote overall development and to foster equality. 
Purpose and Scope
Freshmen: The scholarship will cover the accommodation fees for the first-year academic year at St. John’s College. Current students may also apply if they required support for non-academic projects.  
Eligibility Criteria
•    Must be pursuing a full-time bachelor’s degree in HKU
•    Must have obtained an offer for accommodation at St. John’s College
•    A local resident of Hong Kong with excellent DSE results
Mandatory attendance at College services is required upon receiving the scholarship.

Liaise with HKU scholarship 

The College also liaises with the University of Hong Kong to offer full scholarship to awardee of UWC & HeforShe scholarship, which are able to cover all expense of their accommodation fee.

Students’ Association Awards

To encourage the sports development in St. John's College, awards will be received by St. Johnians who have outstanding contribution in sport, including Sports Honour, for Outstanding performance and sportsmanship in 3 or more sports teams. Sportsman and Sportswoman would be selected as a role model for all St. Johnians in sports.
