The students' passion for learning, their strong sense of committment, and motivation to strive for progress as well as to go beyond their self-perceived limitations are reflected by their academic achievement.
Activities are held throughout the year to facilitate their growth and to encourage them to explore new interests.
Interhall Competitions
Rayson Huang Cup
Created by the University's Committee on Halls in 2013-14 as well, the Rayson Huang Cup is awarded to the hall of residents with the highest average GPA among all halls (College included) of the year.
St. John’s College won the Rayson Huang Cup in 2017-18, 2018-19 and 2019-20.
Centennial Cup
The Centennial Cup was established by the University's Committee on Halls in the academic year of 2013-14 to encourage students to strive for both balance and excellence across academic, sports and cultural activities.
It is annually awarded to the hall (College included) with the highest average scores of:
- the interhall sports competitions,
- the interhall cultural competitions and
- the highest average GPA among student residents.
St. John’s College won the Centennial Cup in 2013-14, 2014-15 and 2015-16. The College also came first runner-up in 2016-17.
Interfloor Competitions
Held within the College, St. Johnians learn from each other and strive to push themselves as far as they are able to.
The interfloor competitions include average GPA of the floor, athletics and aquatics, Round The Island Race, English debate and quiz.
Third floor, The Magnificent Musketeers, won the interfloor overall championship in 2019.
Whole-Person Development
Students are encouraged to be exposed to different cultures, join team games and develop hobbies, as well as to contribute back to society.
